A view from my office & FO!

.....So, sometimes, working for the who's who takes me to some fun places, over the top designed houses, and sometimes I even get "what it costs is what it costs" no budget types of projects. It's been a long time since I've said, "I've never seen anything like it"......or "it's the biggest one yet." but even at my relatively young age of 33, I never expected those 2 sentences to run on together.....This new one is not only going to be my biggest but the most detailed and expensive yet and it's the penthouse of a new 20 story building. So, do you want to see the ribbed watch cap, or the big building first? I thought so......

So, here is the Reality style photo from a few blocks away........yep, thats me on the left and the building on the right. The best part of the day is getting up to the top floor. Since the elevators haven't been inspected yet, and there's hundreds of people that need to get themselves, coffee, tools, lunchbuckets, brainbuckets (hard hats), materials, you name it up to their floor, there is a neat temporary elevator installed on the outside of the building. It runs along a single track, bolted to the structure and there is a really nice man who's job it is to stand in the dark box and run it up and down all day, except between 12-12:30 cause thats when he eats. Also, his last run is at 3:30, so if you aren't ready to leave, you had better have eaten a big lunch, cause theres 20 floors of steps to hike down if you miss it.

Here's a better pic of the elevator.......see it up there? Yep, right there on the left........thats it......

Now, "riding the box" is a real treat, totally enclosed on all sides, except the ends, let in this miniscule amount of light.

The ride stops here on the 20th floor.......See, I told you, Nice office view huh?.....It gets better, trust me. At 6:30, the sunrise is spectacular, but the clouds got me instead today, so I'll give you this instead.

The columbus skyline isn't so bad, and I think I'll enjoy the view for a few months and I'll share more as it progresses. I did promise a finished object, so here it is.

Since I suck at taking pics of finished objects, Here's the ribbed watch cap IU've been picking up and putting down since june.

Cider Moon, Glacier in Aubergine color

Just a simple ribbed watch cap.....

Cause, my feet are big, and one skein just won't cut it, so at least my head won't be cold this winter when I work outside.

Enjoy your week, and behave........

wait, what? "simple rib cap"? uhm, looks like there's some design going on there....i just finished a BORING earflap hat for my brother in law...and now i may have to rip it out and do one of these!! i like those arch ways happening there...great job.

and don't get me started on that office of yours. i would die...heights and me do not mix well. i would have to admire the view from 20 feet in!! but thanks to you, i can enjoy it with the feeling of safety from my computer screen.

Hey, how did Mia find you here???
The hat is cool, but the view is cooler. That's going to be an AWESOME site to work in through the fall.
Hey, that first pic of you, looks like you have more grey beard hairs than I do. Just pointing that out.

The cap? That is very cool. Love the colors. And the pattern is awesome.

Crikey - that elevator has no safety belts? Eeek! I'm too scared to go into your line of work, Buddy. Keep us posted with pics, though, ok?
